first he wrote the screenplay for Armageddon, which is just FAB (in the same way that Top Gun is AMAZING), and then he created Lost (which i thought was good for the first series but then lost interest but others tell me it's still good) then came Cloverfield, which is officially one of the greatest films to have been released in the last 20 years or so, and now this;

it kind of annoys me though that people won't even give it a chance - just because it's a star trek film doesn't mean you have to be a trekkie to enjoy it- I'm not, I've only seen voyager, enterprise and generation, but even if i hadn't this is still an exciting looking film- just watch the trailer and you'll see it looks incredible.

and it takes a lot to get in there. he knocked out Rob Zemeckis. seriously.
